NK cell cytotoxicity is modulated by interaction between killer Ig-like receptors (KIR) and their ligands which may influence the outcomes of transplant through various mechanisms including graft versus leukemia (GVL) effect. The impact of the KIR alloreactions on leukemia relapse in myeloablative transplantation has been reported. In this study we examined the GVL effect in non-myeloablative transplantation in 46 myeloid malignancy (MM) and 34 lymphoid malignancy (LM) patients receiving peripheral blood hematopoietic stem cell graft from haploidentical family donors.Transplant outcomes were evaluated by using missing ligand,ligand-ligand model and by presence of activating KIR (aKIR).
